Journal for 10-Jan-2004 : Kiama |
---|
Another beautiful morning cycling the southern highlands. We rode past Fitzroy Falls, the water supply dam, over some ridiculous hills to the Robertson Pie Shop.
The descent down Jambaroo Mountain pass was very very steep. Steepest hill of the trip. In just 6km (including a 1km false flat) the road plummets from 750 to 50 metres above sea level. Our brake pads were distinctly lighter and thinner at the bottom.
Sat around at Jambaroo watching village green cricket for most of the afternoon, and polished off the last 10kms to Kiama in time to check into the "Graveyard View Inn" (my dad's place, with a sensational view of the Bombo Cemetery).
