Journal for 16-Aug-2003 : Mt Isa+177 |
---|
Early start, and a good tailwind all day today blowing cool air from the south and south east. The morning was still quite cold, it looked like the spinifex grasses were covered n frost, but this was just the sun shining through the dew.
Lots of really rough surfaced road in places. I won't be too surprised if we break something.
The first 80ks through very pretty country. Lots of low hills, red earth, deep blue sky and green spinifex grass. After that the country flattened out, and became a bit grassier with some taller trees.
At 60km the single track road al the caravaners fear started. However, this is 5m wide, much easier and safer on a bike.
Camped up a creek by a waterhole. We had a nice fire to wash, eat and stargaze by.
