Journal for 7-Dec-2003 : Bombala |
---|
Fantastic morning cycling up the Cann River Valley. The road was good and the scenery brilliant. Lovely forest riding with heaps of bell birds, deafening cicadas, Kookaburas laughing at us (on the up hills) and birds that sounded like car alarms. Ultra light winds and a beautiful clear blue sky capped off a magic morning.
Things changed at the NSW border. The road got hillier, the native trees had all been cut down and replaced with Nth American pines, and without the native trees there was no longer any wildlife - except flies of course.
Made it to Bombala and ran into Henk and Peter again. I spent the evening replacing a spoke in Henk's bike rear wheel, then (trying) to true up his wheel.
