Journal for 13-Aug-2003 : Mt Isa |

Admin tasks back on track. I finished off some accounting work and Linda unpacked all the non-perishable stuff for the next leg of the trip. There is a filthy hot NW wind making any progress on the road just about impossible.
With a great deal of trouble (it was too much trouble for the local electronics shop who'd agreed to do it yesterday) I managed to get my accounts printed out (uploading to the net, going to Internet café). Then I made a big mistake. I got Linda to check them, and show me how many terrible blunders I'd made. This meant I hat to print them again, but that was just too hard for the Internet café. So, we decided still needed another day to get ready, especially by 5:00pm when we realised we hadn't bought any food for the 1300km stretch to Katherine.
So at 6pm we tried to get dinner. The courtesy busses weren't so courteous tonight, and the meal took an hour and three chase ups to get our barra by 9:00pm. Went to bed definitely not ready!!
