Journal for 12-October-2004 : Mt Ku-ring-gai

Cycled back to Sydney today. It was very very hot. The sun in Australia has a real bight to it that we haven't felt for the best part of a year. But today we really felt the heat. We flunked out half way up the second (of three) serious climb of the day in a stretch of untouched bushland on the deserted old highway. Probably not the wisest place to stop given we'd already cycled past two bush fires and the aroma of more was in the air. I didn't feel so bad when I saw the weather report on TV tonight. A chilly +37C.
