Journal for 22-Apr-2004 : Visalia |
---|
Absolutely dead flat today, as we navigated the grid maze that hashes across the San Joaquin Valley. Through all sorts of intensive irrigated (subsidised) agriculture. Every conceivable crop was being grown including feed lot dairy, a concept that Kiwi's would laugh at.
Reached the small town of Visalia (pop 50000!) at the 47k mark, and found our lodgings at the 57k mark. And this was without getting lost. America is a *very* spread out place.
I spent the afternoon replacing our chains and eating junk food.
