Went banking today. In America bank staff can be extremely friendly and helpful. But some things are the same the world over.
Tonight I learned just how much of a sheltered life I've lived in the antipodes. In the magical land of Oz we have a red tape manufacturing organisation that sets Austalian Standards, a minimum requirement certain goods must meet to be legally sold. That includes a standard that ensures toilets having bowls with at least the same volume as their tank. This is not the case in the USA, as I have discovered the hard way (and equally the Californian building code does not require floor drains in bathrooms either).
