Journal for 17-July-2004 : Wawa |
---|
A nice bright sunny day with a slightly hazy sky. It was probably a very nice morning but I slept right through it.
Wandered into town to do the washing. OK, I walked into town with Linda to carry the washing.
Wawa a modest town with typical Canadian small town architecture. Lost of wooden homes with tight footprints but most of even the smallest dwellings are two stories high. And as you might expect, the roofs are all rather steep and pointy. Not too many new buildings though, and a few abandond ones. A notice on the Bank of Montreal branch announces it is “moving” down to Sault Ste Marie (don't ask me how that's pronounced – locals seem to call it “the Soo”).
