Left nice and early, thanks to the people next door banging around and smashing things before dawn. As expected some rather uninspiring riding with too many carefree and incompetent (is there any other kind) kiwi motorists. The final hill into Whakatane ('Wh' pronounced 'f', 'a' pronounced 'u' as in 'but' etc. And I'm not kidding!) particularly hairy. It's another beautiful sunny day.
