Journal for 27-Jan-2004 : Omarama |
---|
Rained all night.
Spent the first part of the morning cleaning the rust off the chains and removing the grit and metal filings from the brake pads. Discovered we (read I) lost one of Linda's (mine are long gone) pocket knives, the one used to cut malignant bits off the bikes.
Short easy downhill ride to Omarama through New Zealand's outback. With lots of rain and drizzle about, it really did look pretty bleak. The grass is brown and grey, in spite of all the water. The road runs along a flat looking plain, surrounded by hills which disappear (very quickly) into the clouds.
