Cool morning, as we'd expect in the high country, but it was sunny and what there was of a breeze was at our backs. The Monaro plains still looked stark and barren, hardly green at all in spite of the recent rain. On one flying descent I nearly cracked 70kph. I sat up a bit, looked back for safety and saw Linda was catching me at a great rate. She did crack 70kph! Saw a hawk flying beside us carrying a freshly caught meal.
